VACUUM FORMING SPECIALISTS

A process that was developed in the 1950's in which a negative pressure is used to draw a preheated sheet into a mold cavity. A flat plastic/ABS sheet is softened by heating, the softened sheet is then placed over a concave mold cavity and the plastic then hardens on contact with the cold mold surface and the part is removed and subsequently trimmed.Common vacuum forming plastics are ABS, PVC, Acrylic, Polyethylene and Polypropylene. Some of the applications include:  blister packaging, motor and bus interior, marine and aviation accesories, shower stalls, kitchenware, displays, signs, certain toys to name a few.
